"Genesis 1 1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. This was our response:So where was God when He hasn't created the heaven and the earth yet?"
The first heaven being the atmosphere immediately surrounding the earth, the second heaven being that of the universe (planets, stars, etc.), and the third heaven, which is spoken of in 2 Corinthians by the Apostle Paul, is that of the spiritual realm in which God resides. Therefore "the heaven" which is being spoken of in Genesis 1:1 is that of the first heaven surrounding the earth (the earth's atmosphere) -- It can be none other as the second heaven the Sun, the Moon, and the stars were not created until the fourth day. This leaves only one other heaven, that of the third, from which God created all things as we see them.It is also "interesting" to note that the New(-age) bible versions all change the word "heaven" (singular) as it is written in the original Hebrew text, and as it is still written today, to the plural "heavens" in Genesis 1:1. See:
NEW King James (NKJV)
NEW International Version (NIV)
NEW Revised Standard Version (NRSV)
NEW Living Translation (NLT)
[NLT - Formerly known as 'The Living Bible', now known as 'The Book']
NEW American Bible -- For Catholics (NAB)
NEW World Translation of the Holy Scriptures (NWT), etc., which all INCORRECTLY use the plural-form "heavens" causing nothing but confusion. So who is the author of these corrupted Alexandrian texts ("the oldest manuscripts")? The answer is simple -- the same is the author of confusion -- Satan.
From a very well written article by Terry Watkins, which first appeared on the internet several years ago, I wish to expound -- An article, which in fact turned me from the NIV that I had been reading to the truth in the word of God:
Matthew 24:35 reads, "Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my WORDS shall not pass away."The spiritual life-blood of the human race is the word of God.
Psalms 138:2 says, ". . . for thou hast magnified thy WORD above all thy name."
Psalms 119:89 says, "For ever, O LORD, thy WORD is settled in heaven."
And the first time Satan attacks the human race was a direct attack on the word of God!
- It brings salvation: "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God. . ." (1 Peter 1:23)
- It produces faith: ". . . faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17)
- It produces spiritual growth: ". . .desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:" (1 Peter 2:2)
Jesus Christ said in John 6:63, ". . .the words that I speak unto you, they are SPIRIT, and they are LIFE."
Genesis 3:1 says, "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, YEA, HATH GOD SAID. . .?"Satan planted a small seed of doubt into the mind of Eve. And as Eve questioned the truthfulness of God's Word - the fall of mankind was only a bite away.
And despite these clear warnings, the new versions, take out and add text, over and over! One of the greatest verses in all the Bible, Matthew 18:11: "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost." - THEY TAKE IT OUT!
- Deuteronomy 4:2 reads: "YE SHALL NOT ADD unto the word which I command you, NEITHER SHALL YE DIMINISH ought from it . . ."
- Proverbs 30:6, reads, "ADD THOU NOT unto his words . . ."
- And just in case you missed it, GOD'S LAST WARNING is Revelation 22:18,19, ". . . IF ANY MAN SHALL ADD unto these things. . . And if any man shall TAKE AWAY FROM THE WORDS of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life. . ."
"I must under God denounce every attachment to the New American Standard Version. I'm afraid I'm in trouble with the Lord . . . I wrote the format . . . I wrote the preface . . . I'm in trouble; . . . its wrong, terribly wrong; its frighteningly wrong . . .The deletions are absolutely frightening . . . there are so many . . . Are we so naive that we do not suspect Satanic deception in all of this?"
