>>>Each of the 10 Commandments is restated in the N.T., not only as an external requirement, but as a matter of the heart. I believe the Sabbath was eclipsed by the Lord's Day, just as the Nation of Israel was set aside for the church. Jesus Christ has the right to change the day of worship, from A DAY OF REST for the Jews, to a DAY OF WORSHIP AND SERVICE for the churches and Christians. As you mentioned, there is no verse in the N.T. that says change Saturday (also named after a pagan god) to Sunday, or change the 7th day to the 1st day. But there is also no verse in the N.T. that continues Sabbath keeping, though the other 9 Commandments are stated.

Having said that, I believe it is a sin what Christians have allowed the Lord's Day to turn into. It is no longer a special day set aside for God, but a common day set apart for man. I am saddened by that, yet I can find no requirement for a "Sabbath Day."<<<<<

"Lo this only have I found, that God hath made man upright
but they have sought out many inventions.
"

(Ecclesiastes 7:29)

INVENTION:

>>>"...the Lord's Day..."<<<<< (?)

Your remarks in putting aside the Old Testament (OT), remind me of a 'Church of Christ' member whom I used to know, who didn't use the OT at all. Now, having said that, other than in the book of Revelation (1:10) which speaks of John "in the Spirit", please tell me just exactly where else you find the words, "The Lord's Day" mentioned in the NT (Book, Chapter, and Verse, please)?

>>>"I believe the Sabbath was eclipsed by the Lord's Day, just as the Nation of Israel was set aside for the 'church'."<<<<<

Have you been grafted onto a dead tree that's been "set aside"... with a Sabbath that's been "eclipsed"? So, what you are saying is, the Lord no longer wants man to have a day of rest?

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy."
(Exodus 20:8)

>>>Each of the 10 Commandments is restated in the N.T., not only as an external requirement, but as a matter of the heart....<<<<<
>>>But there is also no verse in the N.T. that continues Sabbath keeping, though the other 9 Commandments are stated.<<<<<

Please explain?? I find a rather obvious contradiction between these two statements. Oh! Wait a minute ...I get it! You must mean something like this [Psst... I'll help here... but for the record, I DON'T wear "little red tights" ...OKAY?!]:

"Whosoever shall break one of these least commandments [except the fourth one], and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven:..."
(Matthew 5:19a)

"But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
(Matthew 15:9)

[but the "Lord's Day"... is okay by ME!]

"...but if thou will enter into life, keep the commandments."
(Matthew 19:17b)

[except the fourth one, it's not necessary]

"Howbeit in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."
(Mark 7:7)

[I do like that one about the "Lord's Day"]

"And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments [except ...the fourth one] and ordinances of the Lord blameless."
(Luke 1:6)

"If ye love me, keep my commandments."
(John 14:15)

[all except the fourth one, it's not necessary. And without it, I can keep you so busy seven days a week, you won't have time to worry about it anyhow]

"He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them [EXCEPT that fourth one, I never did like it anyway], he it is that loveth me..."
(John 14:21a)

"If you keep my commandments [the fourth one is NOT necessary! -- He was just kidding about keeping it holy] ye shall abide in my love..."
(John 15:10a)

"And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments [except that annoying fourth one]. He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments is [NOT] a liar, and the truth is not in him [is SO...!!]."
(1 John 2:3-4)

"And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments [and by now "we" surely know, the fourth one is TOTALLY unnecessary...and just because you havn't gotten any of your prayers answered, has NOTHING to do with this], and do those things that are pleasing in his sight [especially the "Lord's Day things"!]."
(1 John 3:22)

"And he that keepeth his commandments [do I REALLY need to tell you AGAIN, that the fourth one is NOT necessary?!] dwelleth in him, and he in him."
(1 John 3:24)

"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments."
(1 John 5:2)

[Man! I'm like REALLY getting tired of listening to this!!]

"For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments [AGAIN?!]; and his commandments are not grievous." [Yea, right! For YOU maybe! ...Is it hot down here, or is it just me?]
(1 John 5:3)

"And this is love [Okay ...give me a break here, will ya?!], that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, [Psst ...Hey buddy ...Don't Read This Part!! ...TRUST ME!!!], as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it."
(2 John 6)

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy."
(Exodus 20:8)

["heard from the beginning"?!!!?!! Oh man! -- there He goes AGAIN!]

"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ."
(Revelation 12:17)

[Don't worry about this one, you're safe with me bud!!!!]

"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."
(Revelation 14:12)

[Who said you aren't a saint? You've got patience ...right?!]

"Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city."
(Revelation 22:14)

[In all of this ...my Catholic church has been MORE than willing to help, and fooled the whole world in the process! What?, you want to be "different" or something? Come on ...haven't you been LISTENING to me??!!!!??? You don't really think that He meant ALL the "commandments" ...do you? He DID CHANGE that fourth one ya know ...Really! TRUST ME!!!]

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday,
and to day, and for ever.
"

(Hebrews 13:8)

It really doesn't matter just exactly "what" you (personally) believe when you stand before an all Holy and Righteous God. We will not be judged by our own personal beliefs ("eclipsed by"), or [any other form of supersession] of God's Holy Word. We will, "as it is written" be judged as follows:

"He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words,
hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken,
the same shall judge him in the last day.
"

(John 12:48)

"IN HOC SIGNO VINCES" -- (In This Sign Conquer) ...Just about says it all. If you believe anything, ANYTHING, short of that which has been "written" in the Word of God, SATAN HAS MET HIS OBJECTIVE!

PRACTICES IN OPPOSITION TO THE ACCEPTED WAYS OF THE LORD
CAN ONLY BE IN HONOUR OF: "ANOTHER JESUS".

"Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers,
walking after their own lust...they willingly are ignorant...
"

(2 Peter 3:3-5)

"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy."
(Exodus 20:8)

"...HATH GOD SAID...?"   [Satan]
